Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 11, 2026

Triptydo (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a highway stop finder service through our iOS and Android applications, including CarPlay and Android Auto, and related API services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Triptydo.

By using Triptydo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the application.

Information We Collect

Precise Location Data

We collect your GPS coordinates while you are actively using the app. This data is essential to our core service: projecting your position forward along your route and finding stops near where you will be. Location data is transmitted to our servers and to Google Maps Platform for route calculation and place search.

Search Preferences

We collect information about your search preferences, including cuisine types, stop categories (restaurants, hotels, gas stations, EV charging), time budgets, and maximum acceptable detour times.

Device Information

We collect basic device information including your device model and operating system version, solely for compatibility and diagnostics.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage data including feature usage patterns and search frequency. This data does not identify you personally.

Voice and Audio Data

When you use the in-app voice search feature (by tapping the microphone button), your spoken query is processed using on-device speech recognition. Audio is used solely to convert your speech to text for search queries. We do not store, record, or transmit raw audio data to our servers. Voice data is processed locally on your device and discarded immediately after the search query is generated.

Driver Preferences and Profile

We collect information about your interactions with search results, including which stops you navigate to, to build a preference profile (such as preferred cuisines, chains, price levels, and dining times). This profile is used to personalize and improve your recommendations over time.

Crowdsourced Contributions

If you choose to submit stop ratings, corrections, or other feedback, we collect that data to improve recommendations for all users.

How We Use Your Information

  • To project your position along your route and find relevant highway stops based on where you will be
  • To calculate real detour times from highway exits to stops and back
  • To improve stop recommendations, ranking algorithms, and overall quality
  • To maintain, monitor, and improve the service
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
